    Hands on Workshop on MATLAB and SIMULINK

    Date : 31/05/21 -02/06/21 Duration: 1.30 hour The E&EE department in an association with IEEE PES student chapter has organized hands-on workshop on basics of MATLAB programming. This was conducted with the aim of introducing students to solve electrical problems using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The workshop was conducted by Dr.Savitha.P.B. The total number of students from 4th semester and 6th semester participated in this workshop are 58.

    Student Activity – Guess it!!

    Date : 10/06/2021,Thursday The E&EE department in an association with IEEE PES student chapter has organized an event called ‘Guess it!!’ . It was a contest to guess brand names of given logos and taglines. There was 20 questions for which participants had to answer in 15 minutes.


    NATURE-O-GRAPHY – Photo Graphy Contest on Nature

    Date : 5/06/2021,Saturday The E&EE department in an association with IEEE PES student chapter has organized online Nature-O-Graphy on account of World Environment Day. Students participated actively to showcase their talents. It was nature photography contest wherein the participants sent us their captures. The best ones were awarded certificates.

    Hands on Workshop on MATLAB and SIMULINK

    Date : 16/04/2021 On the occasion of Power and Energy Society (PES) day, IEEE PES student chapter in association with E&EE department has conducted various events. This event is conducted every year, PES day comes with a theme. These events were aimed at preparing students for the upcoming placements and for overall skill development. The student chapter organized the following events :

    • Rig Your E chips : Circuit Debugging
    • Pixel : Poster Presentation
    • Quizee : Quiz on Women in Power
    • Articling : Article Writing
    • Rejig: Fun word jumble
    • Coder’s Crusade : Programming Quiz
    • Design your EV : EV Design based on specifications

     

     

    1. Rig your E-Chips

    Date : 16/04/2021 A competition to test the electronic circuit debugging skills of the students The first round comprised of MCQs based on the electronics circuits, where as in the second round working of an online circuit simulator was explained to the participants using which they were asked to design and simulate a circuit for a specific applications


    2. Pixel

    Date : 19/04/21 A digital poster designing competition based on the theme ‘’Clean Energy’’ and ‘’Electrical Vehicle’’. A platform to put their thoughts in an art form and let the poster talk the story behind it.


    3. Quizee

    Date : 20/04/21 QUIZZEE was a quiz on ‘Women in Power’. Participants had to answer to 15 questions whose answers were women achievers. The questions were not formed as complete sentences but broken up into keywords to increase the complexity.


    4. Articl-ing

    Date : 21/04/21 On account of IEEE PES DAY, this event is conducted. Every year, PES day comes with a theme which can bring in awareness. In accordance with this year’s theme, topic for article writing was given as the technologies for clean energy revolution.


    5. Rejig

    Date : 21/04/21 Rejig was a quiz on clean energy.15 Multiple choice questions had to be answered by the participants within the given time .Unlike the Usual quiz this had words in the option jumbled.


    6. Coder’s Crusade

    Date : 23/04/21 A jumbled program (python or c++) was given with output to the participants and they have to solve them with in the time limit.


    7. Design Your EV

    Date : 24/04/21 There has been a huge interest in the EV technologies in the student communities too, this contest was organized to challenge the students to think about the various steps which are needed while designing a EV which need to meet certain specifications of battery as well as usage .

    Competition-IEEEPES student chapter

    The event riddle contest was conducted under IEEE PES ,DSCE Student chapter. In the contest,questions were framed as riddles were posed in a multiple choice quiz format. The questions covered basic areas of engineering and electrical technologies. The event was an online activity, with the quiz posted using google form platform.

    There were 80 from various departments of DSCE and also from other colleges. Certificates were issued to 3 participants who have finished the quiz correctly at the earliest. Registration was free for the participants. The faculty co-ordinator for this event is Mr.Satish B A.

    On line Treasure Hunt-‘TECHUNT’

    An online treasure hunt has been conducted by IEEE-PES students chapter of E&EE department on 8-6-2020.In this competition, the participants have to solve clues at each level to go to the next level. The questions were based on general knowledge related to technology and basic technical problems. There were 11 questions/clues asked to reach the end point.

    Interested students were asked to register through the link provided. Around 80 students have registered and participated in the event. Students from different colleges have participated. Winners were given an e-certificate from IEEE Bangalore section. The website created for this event is shown below.

    IEEE-PES Student Chapter Activity

    E&EE department ,IEEE-PES student chapter has conducted few competitions-online quiz based on aptitude and logical thinking, poster interpretation contest and essay writing contest as a part of the PES day celebration on May 1st, 2020. Students have actively participated in all the events. Twenty (20) students participated in quiz, 8 students participated in poster presentation contest and 80 students participated in essay writing contest. Certificates issued to winners of the contest.

    Deekshitha Arasa, Assistant Professor, 6 hours online course on ‘complete guide to build IOT things from scratch to market’ in UDEMY on May 2, 2020. This course is about how to design, code and built IOT products. This course gives knowledge about coding of Arduino IDE and connecting to cloud IOT platforms, persist data and program triggers.

     

    Two student groups of E&EE , have been selected for quarter finals

    Two student groups of E&EE , have been selected for quarter finals round of AICTE, DST & Texas Instruments-" India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019(IICDC)", Anchored by IIM. Both the groups have received components from Texas Instruments to build the product.

     

    IEEE-PES - Ramaiah Institute of Technology on 05/01/2020.

    Annual General Meeting of IEEE-PES Bangalore chapter was held at Ramaiah Institute of Technology on 05/01/2020. Co-ordinators of all Colleges from all over Karnataka which has IEEE-PES branches have attended. Electrical and Electronics Engineering branch has won “outstanding student branch award for 2019"

     

    VTU YOUTH FESTIVAL “INSIGNIA”

    Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering & Technology, Dharwad conducted 20th VTU YOUTH FESTIVAL “INSIGNIA” from 6th to 9th November 2019. Murali S Bharadwaja , student of EEE participated and certified in Act Play, Skit and Mime.

    Workshop for 3rd semester students

    “Build –A-Circuit” Workshop was conducted by Mrs. Suchana Mishra , Asst.Professor of EEE department, for 3rd semester students on 14/11/2019. Many groups have participated enthusiastically and it was successful.

     

    IEEE PES Orientation

    IEEE PES (student chapter) Orientation was conducted on 20/11/2019. Students of 3rd semester were introduced to benefits of becoming IEEE members and were encouraged to join IEEE PES in the coming year.

    Paper presentation

    Shreeja Goswami, 7th semester student of the department won second prize in the paper presentation competition kagada 2019.

    IEEE Bangalore Section Student Innovation Project fund 2019

    Project proposed by Shraddha and Sonshi of 5th semester from the department of electrical and electronics engineering has been selected for funding by IEEE Bangalore Section in the 2019 innovation project fund
