The Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) established in 1938 is one of the oldest and most reputed scientific organizations of the country. Since its inception, it has contributed significantly towards development of microbiology, particularly in areas of research and teaching in the country. AMI, Bangalore Chapter was reestablished on 25th February, 2013 at Dayananda Sagar Institutions in Bangalore which is one of the leading institutions in Science and Technology for the benefit of students, faculty, scientists and Biotech industry in general.

Bangalore Chapter of AMI is actively conducting webinars, seminars, symposium, lectures, debates, quizzes, pick and speak competition, industry visits and is keen to organize student related programs. AMI encourages participation from students, faculty, scientists, industrialists and interested individuals for the meetings.

Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI), Bangalore Chapter headed by Department of Biotechnology, DSCE, has received the Best AMI Unit Award-2018 at the 59th Annual Conference of Association of Microbiologists of India & International Symposium on Host-Pathogen Interactions organized by School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad in Association with Department of Microbiology, Osmania University on 10th December, 2018.

Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI), Bangalore Chapter headed by Department of Biotechnology, DSCE, is selected for Best AMI Unit Award-2021 and will be receiving the award in the 62nd annual conference of Association of Microbiologists of India with the theme Microbiology and Society : Current Trends and Future Prospects (MSCTFP-2022) organized by University of Mysore (UOM), CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), DRDO – Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) & Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA) at Vijnana Bhavana, Manasagangotri ,University of Mysore, Mysore from 7th to 9th June, 2022.
